No, F is *not* for Forgotton.

I have to admit I struggled a bit coming up with a good word for F. Sure, I could have taken the EASY road, and used one of the most versatile and flexible cursewords, but my mom might actually be reading and she'd demand to wash my mouth out with soap.

And I so love the taste of soap.

Anyway, I needed to stretch….let my mind wander, to dark recesses and see what might be lurking in them. Scary stuff, yes, but something you've got to embrace the scary to really reach destinations that matter.

Or to go….Further.

F is for Further.

1 : FARTHER 1 <my ponies are tired, and I have further to go — Thomas Hardy>
2 : in addition : MOREOVER
3 : to a greater degree or extent <further annoyed by a second intrusion>

I'm taking the first road here. Go Further. Get farther. I'm not really sure why English needed two words for the same concept, except that it's a big, important concept. Don't rest on your laurels. Keep going. Past the point where you thought you couldn't go past. Go Further.

I like sayings a lot – not really the goofy stuff like "Don't worry, be happy" but the more bitter, caustic ones. Rida mentioned "Perception is Reality" a few blogs back. I do love that one. I also like the quote that I've mostly seen attributed to Winston Churchill: "If you are going through Hell, keep going."

Y'know. Further.
