Heh. Pardon the silly title, it's from an old Internet meme. I think.

I'm back on a graphic novel reading kick – comic books, he said, dryly. Rida and I visited a bookstore yesterday – the opium den for us – and each grabbed a stack of reads.

As if we don't read enough for a living, right?

Anyway, I picked up two Batman graphic novels – I'm not a huge Batman fan, but I remember hearing some good things about Jeph Loeb's writing on the series, so I wanted to see what I was missing – and the first volume of the re-launched (I think) Legion of Super Heroes series. I know very little about the Legion of Super Heroes beyond the fact that they have lots of names like "Lightning Lad" and "Dream Girl".

I started the Legion of Super Heroes collection first, and it's pretty good so far. I can't help thinking that it's largely like the early X-men stuff, where the whole mutant powers metaphor for being a teenage outsider beat people over the head.
