I think one of the things that draws me to the graphic novel as an art form is jealousy.
Good description is paramount, but good description is, as we know, hard work. Too much of it and it seems like we're handing out a checklist. Too little of it and people don't really get to invest in a character. Overdoing it bores the reader. Under-utlizing it can make the story hard to connect to.
So, using the simple rule:
1 picture = 1000 words
Those artist folks have it EASY.
