Hello readers.
Summer is winding down and Winter is coming.
Time to stock up on things to read!
I have noticed, during those strange moments of contemplation where I step back and really examine what the hell I am doing, that I do sort of "stock up" for the winter. Given our heavy snows during the Winter of 2009 – where, mind you, I had NO SHORTAGE of things to do – including shovel the cold white stuff that the snowpocalypse delivered us. I can't even relate how many hours I spent digging out my truck, and, the Draumr Dog Bailey is very particular about her own needs for cleared space. I don't think I need to spell that out for you.
In any case, since Winter is coming, I'm making sure that I don't need to risk life and limb to escape the house for entertainment. Books, music, games, hell I even got a guitar to stave off any possible case of stir-crazy.
(It won't work, of course – the stir-crazy is in my bones and it can't be entirely ignored, but perhaps it can be delayed)
Rida laughs about this vaguely squirrel-like behavior but I ignore it – when she's down to her last book to read and there are six feet of snow in our looooong driveway, we'll see who the crazy one is.
So as Winter is only a season away, dear readers, are you ready?
