The first snowflakes. Winter is coming.
Stability. Even in this horrendous economy, we're doing okay.
Music. My iTunes, spinning away in the background is loaded with good stuff and music is my near-constant companion. If I should ever lose my hearing, I'm going to have to get an iPod wired directly into the proper lobes of my brain.
Books! What publisher DOESN'T love their books? Well, I love ours and yours and plenty others besides. Hopefully this winter I can make a bigger dent in my constantly growing pile of To Be Read. And, of course, re-read a few choice things lest I forget how awesome they are.
Our Princess. Rida talks about the dog all the time and I don't, but rest assured that I love her dearly and am endlessly amused by her antics. A friend of mine – who sadly lost his dog to illness recently – just reminded me of the old saying, "Every day I try to be more like the person that my dog things I am." Lucky for me my dog doesn't care much about the person I am so long as I keep scratching her, taking her outside, and giving her all sort of exotic treat.
My darling wife, despite the fact that she worries about stuff like it's her job. It's not her job. She has PLENTY of jobs. Sheesh.
Yes, I'm a week ahead of Thanksgiving, but it's good to get these things sorted out in advance. I'm sure next Thursday my thoughts will principally be in the acquisition and consumption of turkey, MORE turkey and then pumpkin pie – which I'm going to extremely thankful for, of course – but I don't want to forget these things in the here and now.
And so, dear reader, have a good Thanksgiving. Give thanks, for whatever you've got – it's better than having nothing to be thankful for.
–Robert
