I'm going to pull out the cheap sentiment for this one.
M is for Mom.
She'll probably never read this – my mom isn't much for the internet, or email, for that matter. This Brave New World isn't really something she gives much time to. Nevertheless if not for her I'd never have gotten my start in it – she got me my first computer back in 1987, and even though I blew it up – literally, the motherboard fried and smoked – she promoted my ascension to geekdom.
As well as my rampant creative side. Even when it scared her. Even when I wrote stories that probably would have had other parents talking to counselors and possibly even putting lawyers on retainer. She's been supportive, as well as my first fan.
So. She gets today. Thanks Mom. I owe you a couple.
