Well, not easy so much as HOT. The lawn here at Draumr HQ is a lovely varietal shade of yellows and browns with occasional greens in areas lucky enough to in some kind of shade and perhaps attached greedily to an underwater spring. It's a fine time to seek heavy air conditioner, a comfy chair and a damn good book.

That, my friends, is never a problem here.

In addition to reading through Ye Olde Slushpile for Draumr I've been working my way through Bukowski's Run With The Hunted, which is hard to really describe fairly. Charles Bukowski was something like a poet laureate of the streets; the voice of insanely smart and willful self-destructiveness. It's hard to separate fact and fiction from his life – at least for me, not being a scholar of his work – but it's probably the grittiest nonfiction I've read about a man, his drinking, women, drinking, poverty, drinking, writing, drinking, and I probably didn't mention drinking enough.

See? I can mention books not published by us. No jealousy there. It's a big world and there's lots of good stuff to read. INCLUDING now a selection of Draumr's works available in ePub and Kindle formats, perfect for the Kindle or the iPad. Great when you're on the go and can't pack ALL of the books you might want to be reading in one suitcase.

Until next time, readers, keep the lemonade cool and the books even cooler.

Applause to anyone who notes that I steal my blog titles from songs; chiefly whatever happens to be playing when I open a new entry.

(and the timing is good, for this one – the last song ended and now playing is an instrumental Celtic piece)

Summertime and the living is easy.
