Who Dares, Wins.<\/p>\n<p>The hard part is being daring.<\/p>\n<p>Rejection is a hard thing.  In wearing my editor&#39;s cap (a stylish coonskin number, ala Red Dwarf&#39;s Dave Lister) I often have to dole out rejection.  Part of it is that we are a small publisher and we have to be very selective about what we do publish.  Part of it that we aren&#39;t always equipped to sell in some markets.  And sometimes&#8230;things just aren&#39;t good enough yet.<\/p>\n<p>But that shouldn&#39;t really be the end.<\/p>\n<p>EVERYTHING benefits from polish.  If you think something is good enough, even if you get twenty rejections, polish it, rewrite, and keep at it.  I&#39;m sure I could regale you with anecdotes about Very Famous Authors who got dozens of rejections before they found the one acceptance and now they&#39;re Fiction Gods.<\/p>\n<p>But really those anecdotes shouldn&#39;t really matter.  If you&#39;re passionate about writing, you write.  And if you are passionate about having your book out there, you&#39;ll write and re-write and write some more until you get it published.
