I myself am constantly prowling for new and interesting music in the genres that I love, and even some from the genres I don't love. Yet some of my friends seem to get a handful of bands, or maybe just a period of time, and stick with it.

Forever.

This idea is as foreign to me as eating the same cereal for every meal every day for the rest of your life. Sure, cereal is good, but you could be sampling more! all! the! time!

So last Thursday night I sat down with a longtime friend and started going through my Rather Large iTunes library. And since I know her tastes semi-well – I helped establish some of them, in fact – I was trying to offer up to her some stuff I thought she'd like.

It was, however, rather surprisingly to me that she loved everything and them some. She demanded to hear practically every band in my inventory, and to know names and album recommendations and even a few times we flipped over to Youtube to watch videos or something.

Of particular amusment: this video of the singer for Into Eternity demonstrating his ear-bleeding powers, which I hope he uses for good and never for evil. (Because if he turns evil, he will wreak havoc upon us all)

Because of this interest in EVERYTHING we only made it from A – I in my library in about three hours of listening and discussion. I suspect it's going to take two more sessions to make it to Z. And then she's going to have a shopping list of massive proportions.

–Robert

Music!

Of late I've been trying to expose some friends to some new music.
