There's nothing quite as much fun as insulting someone who doesn't entirely realize they've been insulted, but others know. Shakespeare was the master of this sort of language – I suspect that he probably wasn't very good at comebacks in actual conversation, but on the stage he was a cutting master. <\/p>\n

Two definitions:<\/p>\n
(archaic)<\/b> — used especially to express surprise or contempt
and:<\/i><\/p>\n
Indeed. [From quoth a, an alteration of quoth he (said he).] The word is used to express surprise or sarcasm, after quoting someone.<\/p>\n
The kids today on the internet use the slang QFT, meaning Quoted for Truth, both for an agreement but also for a sarcastic add-on. Telling the difference is a challenge for many, and Quotha works for the latter. <\/p>\n
